Description

The Hungarian Art Nouveau House

Szecesszió Háza is Vidor Emil's first art-nouveau-style house in Budapest. It was built from 1901 to 1902 for Bedő Béla, and today is the headquarters of Magyar Szecesszió Házának (the House of Hungarian Art Nouveau).

The Magyar Szecesszió Házának is a unique institution in Hungary. Inside, the house was decorated to convey the atmosphere of turn of the century Hungarian peacetime. The house hosts many artistic events, and artistic round-table discussions. There is also a nice coffee shop, where you can stop for bagels, coffee, homemade pastries and cookies, and authentic Hungarian hospitality.
