Description

The Museum of Applied Arts, housed in the stunning Ödön Lechner–designed building (1896) and adorned with Zsolnay ceramic tiles, was closed for renovation and due to reopen in early 2021. Its main collection comprises 18th and 19th century Hungarian and European furniture, as well as art nouveau and Secessionist pieces and objects related to trades and crafts such as glassmaking, bookbinding and goldsmithing. Additionally, visitors can explore the museum's selection of Islamic art and artefacts that date from the 9th to the 19th centuries.
