Beautiful nostalgic rides
The Funicular (Budavári Sikló) goes from Clark Ádám tér up to the Castle District. The line was opened on March 2, 1870, but was destroyed during the Second World War. It reopened on June 4, 1986. The line has two pedestrian foot bridges crossing over it.
Auto traffic is not allowed in the Castle district, so the Funicular is the best way to travel to the top, as well as offering a splendid view along the ridge.
