Description

In 1905, Frigyes Schulek, the architect behind Matthias Church, erected the Bastion, a neo-Gothic masquerade that appears as if from a medieval era, as a viewing platform in Budapest. Its moniker was taken from the medieval guild of fishermen responsible for defending a section of the castle wall. Its seven white turrets symbolize the Magyar tribes that settled the Carpathian Basin in the late 9th century. Delightful views can be enjoyed from atop this remarkable structure.
