Description

Budapest's old funicular railway

The old railway that is Budvari Siklo (Buda Hill Funicular) can be used to transport up and down Castle Hill while visiting in Budapest's Old Town, or Buda Castle and the Royal Palace. You'll find it at the bottom of Castle Hill, making it a great way to bypass the step climb all together.

From the Budvari Siklo (Buda Hill Funicular) you'll get a great view of the hill and the city. A little old-fashioned, the railway is still in good condition. Having been in operation since the late 1800s, the Budvari Siklo (Buda Hill Funicular) is quite an authentic experience while taking in the views of Budapest.
