Description
Museum-residence of Hungary's greatest poet
Stern busts of Endre Ady flank an otherwise nondescript doorway two blocks from the Danube. Arrows direct you two floors up to the flat where Hungary's most influential poet spent his last two years with his beloved partner Csinszka.
Photographs, postcards, albums and, quite incredibly, original copies of the seminal literary magazine Nyugat await inspection. Ady's personal items dot the four rooms, including his clock stopped at the time of his death, 8.15, on January 27 1919.
